Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Ms. Rockafort is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. She has a Bachelor in Arts from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico with a Major in Sociology and Political Science and a Minor in Psychology. She has a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy State University. Throughout the years, she has accumulated over five hundred hours in continuing education credits and has supervised several interns.

She has over 18 years in the counseling industry, working with the mentally ill and diverse populations in different settings (mental health hospitals, mental health agencies, and residential treatment programs for the severely mentally ill). She has also had the opportunity to run her own private practice where she managed all aspects of the business and worked extensively with individuals, families, and children providing psychotherapy.

Her clinical experience allows her to integrate fully into various aspects of mental health including partial hospitalization programs, psychosocial rehabilitation, anger management, parenting skills, substance abuse, and employee assistance programs.

Throughout her employment, she has worked in specialties such as grief and loss, spirituality, life transitions, HIV/AIDS counseling, pre-marital counseling, depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders.
Her focus is to promote optimum mental stability to her clients through education and empowerment so they can increase their coping skills in the management of symptoms and day-to-day stressors.
