Licensed Christian Counselor
Mrs. Ida Jane Grider graduated from Wayne State University with a BS in Education and a second degree in Special Education. She graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Master’s Degree in School/Community Counseling. Mrs. Grider is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Board Certified Counselor and National Certified School Counselor in the state of Missouri. She has worked as a director of a Kindergarten in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Adult Basic Educator (assisting others to achieve their GED Certification). She has also worked at the High School Level and retired as a Middle School Counselor. The following are several programs that she successfully facilitated: Big Brothers/Sisters, Above & Beyond, I Choose Success, The Sky is the Limit, Conflict Resolution, Empowering Young Women, the Character Ball, and the ABC (Attitude, Behavior, Character) Club.
Mrs. Grider also retired from Provident Counseling Agency and Missouri Baptist University as an Adjunct Professor who taught Counseling Practicum and Licensure Counseling students. She also voluntarily taught financial money Management Classes and Steps to Freedom. When Mrs. Grider came to Florida she went above and beyond and became a Licensed Clinical Christian Therapist and a member of the Federal Association of Christian Counselors and Therapists (FACCT). She is now working at Compass Counseling LLC part-time and also for the Orange County Public Schools as a substitute. Mrs. Grider has three successful adult children. One is a Doctor; another is an Attorney in Washington D. C. and the third is an Administrator in the Atlanta, Georgia School System.
