Master in Psychology

Ernesto was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He completed his B.A. of Psychology at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. Ernesto has a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico and is a Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, (Psy D program).

He has been working uninterrupted for the last 24 years within the mental health field. Ernesto has been a Licensed Psychologist in Puerto Rico for the past 14 years. He is a scientific evidence-based oriented therapist. He has worked as a Psychotherapist and evaluator for preschool, school children, adolescents, adult individuals, couples, and families. He has extensive experience working in various clinical settings and programs such as a drug detox clinic, HIV /Cancer populations, people with disabilities, homeless and drug rehabilitation centers, and the LGBT population.

Ernesto is a highly culturally sensitive clinician who values diversity. He has also worked with the Department of Education of Puerto Rico and Families and Children in various psycho-educational and intervention programs. Ernesto was an assessor and consultant for the Vocational Rehabilitation State Program for the Independent Living Council. He is also certified as a Benefits Planner and Outreach Coordinator by Cornell University, NY, to counsel the Social Security Disability beneficiaries. Ernesto has been part of a multidisciplinary team at Hospitals and Agencies, under the accreditation of Join Commission working with federal programs such as Medicare/Medicaid.

Ernesto has written and been a consultant for various newspapers and media programs in Puerto Rico. In 2015 he moved to the city of Orlando, Florida in search of new opportunities for personal and professional growth. Ernesto has focused his services as a Psychotherapist on the Hispanic population and the recent immigrants from his Island since Hurricane Maria. He has a wife and is the father of two children. Ernesto also has participated as an adult leader of the Boy Scouts of America which he highly believes in and recommends to all youngsters.
