Who is Dr. Nute?
I am a Licensed Clinical Christian Psychologist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Practitioner, and a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor who has extensive training and experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults with a wide range of mental health issues. I have worked in the mental health field for over 23 years and believe that it is very important to build a strong rapport and trust with my clients first and foremost. This, in turn, will create a healthy, healing environment for all who come into my office. My approach is an eclectic one with an emphasis on The relationship. I work with a broad range of problems including, but not limited to: Men’s Issues, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, ADHD, and others.
Dr. Nute has experience working as a therapist for four prominent community mental health agencies, providing services to children and adolescents in their homes and in schools, throughout Seminole, Orange, and Osceola counties, with the use of Spanish in some sessions. In the private sector, he has worked with Christian Counseling Associates for 8 years doing individual counseling with adults, families, children, and couples as well as in the Oviedo area. Dr. Nute has extensive training and experience working with these populations and uses many creative and eclectic styles of therapy to help them overcome their hurts and find peace
Dr. Greg received his Bachelors of Science degree in psychology from the College of Charleston with a minor in religious studies. He received his Masters of Arts degree in Counseling from Webster University in Orlando, Florida, and subsequently his internship at Devereux Florida to obtain his licensure with the state of Florida. He received a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Clinical Psychology.
Dr. Greg has received his credits to obtain Certification as a Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor. He can supervise interns interested in obtaining the RPT or RPT-S certification as well, which is authorized and governed by The Association for Play Therapy, Inc. Dr. Greg continues to receive continuing education in play therapy and supervision in order to keep this play therapy certification and has over 700 hours of training just in Play, Sandplay, creative arts, and family therapy. He is also a state Qualified Clinical Supervisor and provides supervision to Registered Mental Health Interns and Marriage and Family Interns for state licensure. He is also certified as a mental health integrative medicine practitioner and shares strategies that are holistic in nature to help his clients.
He uses play therapy including puppets, role-playing, figurines, art, music, clay, humor and sand trays to help children overcome their hurts; With adults, a client-centered approach. Both are Christ-Centered.
